Youth Minister Job Description

Youth Minister for the Bay Area church of Christ
The Youth Minister is responsible for the spiritual development and execution of a purpose-driven youth ministry to 7th-12th graders. The Youth Minister will be responsible for coordinating youth classes and all the youth ministry volunteer staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Our youth minister is willing to take a leadership role in order for our program to reach its potential for God’s service. Your vision, goal and mission should reflect God’s will for His church and our youth.
You must have the desire to build relationships with teens and their families. You will continue to build rapport between the youth ministry and other ministries within the congregation.
Plan and schedule 1 major and 2 minor youth group activities per month outside of standard congregational meeting times.
Attend, chaperone, and facilitate area youth events including but not limited to:

Bay Area Week and Winter Camp at Central Florida Bible Camp

Sonquest in Orlando, Florida
Plan and implement programs that include:
WORSHIP:
Model and promote the growth of individual worship activities
Plan and coordinate devotionals and youth worship assemblies
Find ways to involve the youth in church activities and assemblies
OUTREACH/FELLOWSHIP:
Model evangelistic spirit
Structure activities that are targeted for both churched and unchurched teens
Plan fun activities that will encourage friendship and evangelism
EDUCATION:
Curriculum Development in cooperation with and direction from Elders and deacons of youth
Finding resources for classes. Teach engaging youth group Bible classes on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.
SERVICE:
Develop opportunities of service for the youth, serving both the congregation and community outreach
COMMUNICATION:
Develop and use channels of communication with youth, parents, staff and elders
Ability to teach teens in engaging manner using Biblical principles
Requirements/Qualifications:

A college/university degree in Bible, Ministry or related field, or experience as a Youth Minister, or a combination of education and experience. Consideration will be given as well to other applicable experience. New (or soon to be) graduates welcome to apply.
